Support the growth of the Michigan Tech Men's and Women's Cross Country teams!
The Michigan Tech Cross Country teams are programs on the rise, and we welcome your generous support in their continued growth. Your contributions will help us work toward our goal of purchasing a weight-reducing treadmill. This tool will help us mitigate load on athletes that might be sensitive to injury, as well as help those who are injured return to running more quickly. We see it as a piece that will help us take the next step in training and racing.
Last year, we had 6 athletes earn all-conference and 2 athletes earn all-region honors. Our men’s team also qualified to the National Championships in Sacramento, California, earning just our 2nd ever automatic qualification en route to our 23rd place finish. In the classroom, we received USTFCCCA All-Academic team awards for both Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, while Sam Lange earned his second-straight CSC Academic All-America Second Team distinction, as the average team GPA continued to be among the highest at Michigan Tech.
This year, we look to build upon that season and hope to qualify both teams for the national meet. We expect our men will again be ranked in the top 30 through most of this coming season. Our women took big strides last year, but will likely remain underdogs until we race to our potential. If both teams put the pieces together well, it’s possible we could have both on the line in Kenosha, Wisconsin, at the end of November.
Your gift to Michigan Tech Cross Country will support our continued success. Our student-athletes can be among the best in the nation, and your gift will support them as individuals and the overall future of program success. Thank you!
