The purpose of a locker room in college football is much more than just a place to get dressed for practice and games. It serves as a home away from home for the players during the school day while waiting to attend class, treatment, meetings, and much more. It also serves as a recruiting tool for the Michigan Tech football program as we focus on our goal of attaining national prominence as one of the top Division II football programs in the country. This project is critically important as we continue to take progressive steps to strengthen our culture and the reputation of our football program.
Sponsoring a locker requires a commitment of $5,000, which can be paid over a period of up to five years. In acknowledgment of your generosity, your name will be placed in a visible location on one of the 125 lockers in the renovated football locker room. You may choose to sponsor a locker coinciding with the number you wore or you and a fellow teammate or alumni may want to each sponsor lockers next to each other. If there is more than one person who wants to sponsor the locker representing the number they wore, that also is possible with a $5,000 sponsorship per person and all names will be placed in that locker. Your name would remain on that locker for seven years with an opportunity to renew your locker sponsorship with an additional gift for five years.
Our goal is to secure the total funding of $625,000, which will underwrite the renovation of the locker room, including the installation of new lockers, fixtures, flooring, and enhanced technology. Any additional funds received over the renovation cost will be invested in further improvements to Kearly Stadium and the football program.
Your support of the locker room renovation is an ideal way to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Michigan Tech Football. Your investment in the facility is an investment in our student-athletes and their accomplishments in the classroom and on the field.
