Our Crowdfunding Groups
The Graduate Student Government (GSG) of Michigan Tech serves as a liaison between the graduate students and the university leadership. Through shared governance practices, students are allowed to express their concerns, share their ideas, and participate in the decision-making processes that shape their educational experience. Through GSG, a registered student organization, graduate students have the opportunity to engage with their peers and work together to create positive change within the university.
A key function of the GSG is to advocate for the needs and interests of graduate students. This includes working to ensure that graduate students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed, both academically and personally. In addition to its advocacy efforts, GSG is also involved in a number of initiatives aimed at enhancing the student experience. This includes hosting events and workshops that provide opportunities for graduate students to network, build community, develop new skills, and create a sense of belonging. In this session alone, GSG has organized over 25 events with over 3,200 student interactions, which is almost three times the number of on-campus graduate students.
Alumni support will allow GSG to extend its programming to more graduate students.
