Following the closure of Finlandia University in April 2023, the Michigan Technological University Board of Trustees approved a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. With Tech's rich history in nursing, the technological advances in healthcare, and the high demand for nurses in the Upper Peninsula and surrounding regions, transitioning the Finlandia nursing program to Michigan Tech was a natural fit.
Students in the new nursing program began taking courses and the complete approval and accreditation process was finalized in fall 2023.
The nursing program is building their resources to enhance student learning experiences and provide access to learning supplies. Providing reference materials and additional nursing equipment for student use will contribute to their success.
