The Snowboard Race Team at Michigan Tech is a coed race team that allows undergraduate students of all skill ranges to compete at several United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) meets across the Midwest.
The student organization was established to represent the University in collegiate snowboard racing throughout the Midwest, geared toward anyone with an interest in racing, freestyle, or improving their riding skills. Members of the Snowboard Race Team compete across the Midwest, racing in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. After the normal season, athletes have the opportunity to compete at nationals, which alternates between New York and California. During the season, members compete in giant slalom, slalom, slopestyle, and boardercross.
Donations from alumni and friends will greatly benefit the Snowboard Race Team in purchasing racing gates and equipment. With gates, the team will be able to hold race practices to improve the skills of members. The team will also be able to use race gates to host community races and provide tutoring to community members.
