Since 1972, Summer Youth Programs (SYP) at Michigan Technological University has delivered hands-on educational explorations for tens of thousands of middle and high school students from around the world. Now, in its 50th year, SYP is celebrating a legacy of sparking curiosity and inspiring impact with a scholarship campaign to ensure continued access to programs for generations to come. About 40% of SYP participants receive aid to attend, so your support will make an immediate difference by giving a student the opportunity to discover their interests and find their passion.
Ben is a first-year computer engineering major at Michigan Tech who attended SYP on a scholarship as a high school student.
"SYP was a great experience. It was the perfect mix of having fun and learning about different types of engineering majors. SYP helped me learn what things I would and wouldn't want to do for my future, and it made college seem more appealing.
"The scholarship I received helped immensely, and I'm grateful to the whole experience for shaping my future."
